Born in Modena, Italy in 1963, Stefano Pagliani  began studying the violin at the age of six.  His teachers include Salvatore Accardo, Franco Gulli and Paolo Borciani (first violin of the famous quartet, Quartetto Italiano.)  For over two decades, he played first violin in the most important opera and symphony orchestra in Italy and abroad, including the orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Florence Maggio Musicale in Florence. He has recorded as a soloist with these orchestras and with highly prestigious record labels such as EMI and Sony Classical.Pagliani has played all over the world under the most renowned conductors, including  C. Abbado, C. M. Giulini, H. von Karajan, L. Maazel, Z. Mehta, R. Muti, G. Pretre, W. Sawallisch e G. Sinopoli.A violin teacher since 1983, he has always gained great satisfaction from the notable achievements of his students.  In addition to teaching, he has  dedicated himself to organizing competitions in Italian and foreign theatres.Witnesses of Pagliani’s artistry are the countless musicians who performed with him in the following theatres: La Scala Theatre in Milan, S. Cecilia Orchestra, Orchestra Teatro La Fenice, Orchestra Sinfonica Rai in Turin, Verona "Arena", Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Hamburg State Opera, the Madrid Symphony Orchestra, and others. His students frequently take part in international violin competitions, such as the Vittorio Veneto, and are regular recipients of significant awards.Pagliani has been a professor at the Philharmonic Academy of La Scala in Milan, la Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, Simon Bolivar Orchestra in Caracas (Venezuela), Taiwan National University, University of Toronto and Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. He currently a member of the violin faculty at the Toronto School of Music in Canada and the Victoria Academy in Beijing.
