Coming from a family of musicians, combined musical and humanistic studies, graduating in Foreign Languages at "La Sapienza" University in Rome and studying Singing, Repertory and Stage Direction at the "Accademia" in Osimo. In 1980 she won the First Prize at the "Busoni" Competition and, in 1983, was a winner of the "AS.LI.CO." Competition. Among her teachers were Gianna Pederzini, Leyla Gencer, Giorgio Favaretto, Maria Zunica and Cathy Berberian.
Her repertory ranges from baroque opera to contemporary music, which she has performed in many important theatres among which, the Rome Opera, "La Scala" in Milan, the "Teatro San Carlo" in Naples and the "Carlo Felice" in Genoa, as well as with musical institutions and Festivals both in Italy and abroad; she has often given first performances of works that were written especially for her voice.
After an intense career that developed very early, she now dedicates herself to teaching, offering specialized courses and master classes  dealing with operatic interpretation, based on the principles of Jo Estill's control method. She is currently Professor of Voice at the Conservatory of Music "San Pietro a Majella" of Neaples.
