Pasquale Pierri received his bachelor's degree in French horn in 1988 at the Conservatory of Music "ER Duni" of Matera under the tutelage of the masters G. Crott and G. Short, followed by studies  with Radovan Vlatkovic at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, where he obtained a diploma of merit. He attended master classes with Frøydis Ree Wekre and D. Clevenger. Successful auditions subsequently lead him to performances with illustrious institutions such as La Scala in Milan, Musical Afternoons of Milan, the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro "Carlo Felice" in Genoa, Teatro Comunale in Florence, Tuscany Regional Orchestra, Orchestra of Trento and Bolzano and of 'Symphony Orchestra "A. Toscanini" of Emilia Romagna, as principal horn player.  He has also collaborated with various groups including the Philharmonic Orchestra of La Scala in Milan, the RAI orchestras in Milan, the Turin RAI Orchestra and the Italian Swiss Radio of Lugano. He won the 3rd seat for horn at the Opera Orchestra - Symphony Cagliari. Since 1998 he has served as 1st and 3rd  horn chair with the Orchestra of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples (competition winner). He is very active in other groups of woodwind and brass instruments. Over the years he has played under the direction of  such distinguished conductors as Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Lorin Maazel, Georges Pretre, Jeffrey Tate, Gary Bertini, Wolfgang Sawallish, RF De Burgos, and others.  He tours frequently with the orchestra of the Teatro San Carlo of Naples (Italy) in Europe and in various countries around the world such as Japan, China, America, Greece, France and Austria.  He is professor of horn at the Conservatory of Music "G. da Venosa" of Potenza.
