Aniello Desiderio

Born in Naples, Aniello Desiderio he began to study classical guitar at the age of 6 years; his teachers were Pietro Piscitelli, Bruno Battisti D'amario and Stefano'aruta. He attended for several years masterclass conducted by Leo Brouwer and graduated with the highest honors at the Conservatorio “A. Vivaldi” of Alessandria. He gave his first concert at the age of 8 years and the criticism already on that occasion, he began to speak of him as an “enfant prodige”.

He won 18 first prizes in national and international competitions in Italy (Recanati, Bardolino, Ancona, Moncalieri, Loreto, Messina, Sanremo), Cuba (Havana) and in Spain (First Prize and Special Prize for the best interpretation of the works of Tarrega at the International Competition “Francisco Tarrega” of Benicasim; First Prize at the International Competition “Gives Cristina J. Guerrero” in Madrid).

The international career of Aniello Desiderio started in 1989, with performances all over the world: Switzerland, Japan, the USA, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Germany, Turkey, France, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Spain, Venezuela, Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, Austria, Poland, Russia, Indonesia, Hungary, Colombia, the Netherlands, both as a soloist with various orchestras including the Berliner Philharmonic, Rundfunk-sinfonie-Orchester, Wiener KammerOrchester, Bach Collegium, The Musical afternoons and the “Virtuosos of Moscow” directed by Vladimir Spivakov.

He has played for some of the most prestigious musical organizations, and in some of the most important theaters of the international scene, including: New York's Carnegie Hall, Vienna Konzerthaus, “Radio France“, Bayerische Rundfunk TV, Musikfest Bremen”, “Concert Series in san Francisco” (USA), Alter, Opera Frankfurt, the Tonhalle Düsseldorf, the Philharmonie and Prinzregententheater Munich, the Salzburg Mozarteum.

In November 1996, he made his New York debut at the Manhattan School of Music and currently holds the master in the most famous music schools in the world. In September 1999, he received the prize “Artist in Residence” by the German Radio DLF and the Musikfest Bremen together with the violinist Gidon Kremer. In 2001 he did a tour with the Rundfunk-sinfonie-Orchester Berlin and the Deutsche Kammer-Philharmonie in theatres such as the Alte Opera Frankfurt, the Munich Philharmonic, and the Tonhalle in Dusseldorf.

He recorded several discs for Frame, Waku Music, Koch Universal, Termidor and in 2006, he founded the Love Records. From 2005 to 2012 he was Professor at the Academy of Music at Koblenz (Germany). Testimonial of the “D'addario Guitar Strings”, is a professor of guitar at the Conservatory of Avellino.
