Born in Rome, Patrizio Serino graduated at the S. Cecilia Conservatory in Rome with the highest honors and honorable mention. He then attended the Master Course held by Francesco Strano at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome with the highest honors, receiving the prestigious “Sinopoli award” under the patronage of the President of the Republic. He specialized with I. Monighetti in Basel and followed the master classes held by E. Dindo, E. Bronzi, D. Geringas and G. Hoffman.

He has won numerous international competitions, including the first overall prize at the prestigious "Premio Trio di Trieste" competition.

From October 2005 to May 2007 he held the position of First cello at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania. With the same role he has collaborated with the Orchestra di Roma e del Lazio, Rome Symphony Orchestra, Regional Orchestra of Tuscany, the Orchestra of Teatro Carlo Felice, the Orchestra dell’Accademia di Santa Cecilia and Orchestra Mozart conducted by Claudio Abbado.

Since 2011 he has been chosen by Zubin Metha as the First cello in the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
